love letter for Comot
it took me nine months to write this to you. you left me, and i'm still grieving over your death.
my dad found you in 2008, you were clinging to his legs. he brought you home, and there you are, the first official cat to my family.
as with most first in the family, you were showered with luxury. you loved cuddling and sleeping with us. you love the smell of expensive perfumes and high-end leather handbags. you love showering me with kisses on my face. you were essentially a spoiled brat; the princess of all cats.
covid lockdown happened and i am immediately plunged into unemployment and poverty. when i think life can't be more fucked up as it is, life decided to broke me even more and gave you cancer in 2020. i pooled whatever i have left and wheeled you into surgery. it was a success; you were cancer free afterwards.
my happiness and your remission doesn't last long. your cancer came back in the early 2025. even though i am somewhat employed, the treatment options for you were limited because you were already 17 years old. all the money in the world could not even pay the doctor to perform surgery on you.
your lump of cancer grew bigger, and from then on it's just palliative care in the hopes that your pain will reduce. unfortunately your lump got infected, and a week after that you left me.
you left me, my love. you left me a few days after my birthday. you left me 18 days after Yaya left me. i was at work and my mother texted me that you have left this mortal plane. i can't even leave work to bury you. i got home and my family already buried you, your grave still fresh from our tears.
goodbye Comot my love. my heart is broken, but i'm glad you're not in pain anymore. you've been my best friend half of my life, how do i live now without you? you crossed the rainbow bridge, and i can only hope for a better life for you on the other side. say hi to Luna, Solty and Yaya for me, okay?
i love you, forever and always 💔
Comot
